The Challenge
Objective Engineering Inc. embarked on a challenging yet rewarding endeavor in collaboration with Bluestar Hangar Inc. to design and construct a new hangar door at the Tillsonburg Airport. The project commenced with a thorough assessment of spatial separation conflicts, necessitating alignment with various regulatory standards and existing infrastructure. Amidst conflicting information from the Airport Development Manual, Ontario Building Code (OBC), and site-specific conditions, the team sought clarity from local authorities to ensure compliance.
The Solution
Challenges such as door column alignment, hydraulic system uncertainty, and reinforcement of structural connections were met with innovative solutions and collaboration between the engineering team and contractors.
